SME XPO organisers Sam North and Will Fowler have completed a management buyout from the show’s owner, the Evening Standard.

North and Fowler launched SME XPO on behalf of the Evening Standard in 2022. Last year’s event attracted 4,447 attendees.

Following the buyout, the London media platform has agreed to continue its association with the two-day show in a partnership capacity.

Paul Kanareck, Interim CEO of the Evening Standard said: “We are thrilled to pass the baton to Sam and Will, whose vision and expertise will undoubtedly propel SME XPO to new heights. The Evening Standard remains committed to supporting SME XPO through our ongoing partnership, ensuring it remains a key event in the business calendar.”

The next edition of SME XPO will take place from 18-19 June 2025 at ExCeL London. North and Fowler have now set up a new company to run SME XPO called Inflection Point.

Fowler said: “Our team’s experience and dedication have been integral to the success of SME XPO thus far. We are passionate about supporting the SME sector and look forward to driving the event forward with new ideas and a renewed focus on providing the best possible experience for all our attendees and partners.”

North concluded: “We are excited about the future and committed to the ongoing success of SME XPO.”
