SATTE achieved record success in 2024. South Asia’s main travel and tourism event welcomed over 1,500 exhibitors and 35,000 attendees at India Expo Mart on 22-24 February, including 800+ buyers from India and abroad.
Pallavi Mehra, senior group director at Informa Markets India, stated that the Indian travel and tourism industry is “projected to generate 6,100,000 new jobs by 2034”. SATTE aims to capitalise on this success and grow with the industry, expanding to a larger venue in 2025 and promoting attendance through regional sub-events.
To boost attendance, Informa Markets in India has just completed a series of zonal SATTE CONNECT events, as well as roadshows across major hubs in the country. The initiatives are targeting local associations, potential exhibitors, entrepreneurs and professionals in the industry. The SATTE Roadshow spanned key cities such as Chandigarh, Jaipur, Surat, Vadodara, Pune, Hyderabad, Bangalore and Kochi.
In 2025, SATTE (South Asia’s Travel and Tourism Exchange) aims to build on its success, switching venues to Yashobhoomi, New Delhi – a much larger location with 93,000sqm of exhibition space, compared to India Expo Mart’s 73,000sqm.
Pallavi Mehra continued: “The success of the more regional SATTE CONNECT and the Roadshow series highlights the resilience and immense growth potential of India’s travel and tourism industry.”
Founder of PT Balitrip Wisata (exhibitor at SATTE) Dheeraj Ranjan Kumarr: “We are grateful for the opportunity to participate in the recent SATTE Connect exhibitions. The events were impeccably organized, offering an excellent platform to forge new partnerships and explore emerging markets. The response we received was impressive, with each city showcasing its unique energy. Our interactions with travel agents and industry leaders have been highly productive.”
